History of MST
MST was founded in 1991 by Susannah Wright in response to doctors’ demands for training courses for their medical support staff.
Through working in both medical administration and nursing, Susannah recognised the need for those competent in clerical and administrative roles to gain a greater working knowledge of medical terminology.
Since 1991 MST has taken the foundation of medical terminology and has developed courses in understanding prescription medicines, test investigations, summarising medical records and dental terminology.
In 2001, MST obtained accreditation from the Law Society to provide training for legal firms and representatives. MST’s medical terminology courses were approved by AMSPAR in 2004.
As well as working within the NHS, MST also provides a series of courses for Social Services and Health Insurance Companies. These include adaptations of the terminology courses as well as specific programmes in oncology and cardiology.
In addition to the medically related courses MST also now provides training in presentation skills and time management.
